History shows the eventual nominee wins early and often in the primaries and so it is important to have success combinations active (or more importantly inhibiting combinations like SU/SA inactive) when the primary season begins.
That sounds right - though I am not an expert on the US electoral system - hence the question I posted on 25 October. But as for making no excuses, in this context the difference between an explanation and an excuse is much a matter of interpretation. We have a duty to try to be right all the time, but we are human and will occasionally fail.
Another consideration: techniques can give us precise answers, but even the most precise answers may have divergent meanings for different observers. If one is optimistic about the future of the US, then benefic aspects are compatible with becoming President. But if one is very anxious, one may think that becoming President in the 2009-2012 term will be something like time in the penitentiary, and entirely different aspects will be pertinent. So if one is not to rely on one's political biases, it seems to me that one must look at general trends along with personal maps.
