WORLD CUP SOCCER 2002:
The Annular Ring of Power At Gollum's Ball
(or, APO-CALYPSO In YOKOHAMA?)
By Rab Wilkie

THE FIRST QUESTION IS, which team will be Pluto?
Because, as the Sun passes the Vertex on 30 June,
as seen from Yokohama when the final Cup game is
played, it opposes Pluto at the anti-vertex forming
the axis of an azimuthal Kite pattern. And we
already know that France is the favourite Sun.

Proving astrology in the interim

Those of us who are interested in probability statistics - (even in an amateurish way like myself) are frequently exposed to criticism of our art by educated skeptics who claim that much of what we think we see in astrology is actually an illusion. In simple terms they say we are kidding ourselves.
Now I'm sure that this does happen at times - especially with the more gullible of us; but why do we retain our strong confidence?

World Cup Tensions

The soccer World Cup is about to get under way in Japan and South Korea. With three eclipses happening between now and the end of the competition, not to mention the Saturn-Pluto opposition, there will no doubt be many newsworthy events to keep the tabloids and fans happy. First shot across the bows of any dozing journalists has been the shock dismissal of the captain of Ireland's soccer team, Roy Keane, who is their only true world class player. His abusive and x-rated outburst directed at the manager will not endear him to soccer-loving grannies in his homeland. The astrology of the event is very appropriate and interesting.

CANADIAN ASTROLOGY;
Radiant Treks From Toronto
(Or: The Amazing Adventures of Jacques Varian)
Part I: Brazil On The Hod
By Lex MacKenzie
"Is there such a thing as Canadian astrology?" a colleague
once asked me. If not a method or system, then an approach.
One that might be considered typically Canadian?
I was flummoxed.

Interesting coincidences in astrology

By Ray Murphy, Section News Posted on Sun May 19th, 2002 at 00:29:43 EDT

We could all kick ourselves sometimes for not thinking of some simple idea or invention which as staring us in the face.
Well this is one of them:
A thread on the Urania site for reporting unusual coincidences observed while doing astrology.
The neat thing about this thread is we don't have to embarrass ourselves by putting forward some "astrological claim" which doesn't hold water - but merely place on the public record some unusual observations which may tie-in with others' observations.

Assassinations

The recent assassination of the Dutch politician, Pim Fortuyn on 6th. May, 2002 reminded me of my concern during an astrology meeting in May, 1991 where I suggested that there was a high probability of a World Leader being assassinated in July 1991 "Because of the biggest eclipse of the century occurring at the same time as one of the common factors for assassinations" These "common factors" were Venus or Mars at the 29 LE/AQ axis (+/- 5 deg) or conjunctions of VE + MA at any degree.
