Jean-Louis de Ligonier was born in Castres in the Languedoc, 43n36 2e14, in 1680. His family emigrated to England when the going got tough for Protestants in France. He became a soldier. At the battle of Malplaquet, 11 September 1709, his clothes received 23 bullet holes but his body was untouched. Much later, when he was commander of cavalry at the battle of Val, 1 July 1747, his horse was shot dead under him while he led a charge, but again he was unhurt. He became a Field Marshall in 1757. Maybe we can try finding a really lucky date in 1680, then see if anyone came close to the real birthday - assuming it can be found.
I am almost certain those battle dates are Gregorian.
